O.K this time the “tune of the week” is not only THE tune of the
week but also THE dance of the week .. or YEAR even haha !
I don`t know much about Yelle aside from the fact that she`s
doing some horny sounding electro-pop and is pretty popular
in France where this “Techtonik” style is doing all the raves .
Props to Ninh for finding this !

This week`s tune that`s been stubbornly stuck in my head is the nicely
titled ” Dickhead ” by young Kate Nash .
I don`t know much about Kate Nash , except that she`s pretty young yet
alreadystarting to become quite the big star . I`ve heard her name pop
by but never stopped and bother to listen to her songs untill a few days
ago Ninh shoved me a ton of youtube links for her music in my face .

I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised .
She reminds me of Lily Allen , which Kate Nash always seems to be compared too
tough I like Kate`s voice alot better , it`s more .. I don`t know “mature” and “full” ?
Argh – Just listen to the song and make up your own mind about this one !

Kate will be performing in Amsterdam`s Paradiso this month , tough unfortunatly
her concert has long since been sold out , and with all the other concerts
I`ve got planned for this month I can`t really justify the cost of getting a more
expensive second hand ticket . I`m sure i`ll see her on a festival next year
if not earlier in a concert somewhere .

I have actually been extremely quite about what is 2007`s best anime show on my
blog but true anime fans need no introduction to ” Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann ”
With every anime of exceptional excellence there is a soundtrack of epic
propertions to go with it
This rule carries trough for Gurren Lagann , fans of the show had a nice surprise
from them in store because as soon as the last episode (27) had aired marked
the day for the double-disc soundtrack to be released in Japanese stores.

This week`s “Tune of the week” is different from those that came
before it because the track ” Libera me from hell “is unlike the other commercial
songs a part of the soundtrack for the aforementioned show .
It is heard two times during the entire show , both in the later episodes close
to the end and the directors made good use of it by perfectly timing this
song whichis a mixture of rap and bombastic opera vocals to the action on screen .
It was quite hard to pick a single song from the soundtrack to put up as the
tune of the week because quite franctly the entire soundtrack is amazing .
But I chose this since it`s such a powerfull piece of soundtrack and used in
such a powerfull way during the final stages of the show that I relive those
emotions whenever I listen to this , so I geuse it stood out a bit more .

Look out for more Gurren Lagann on my blog soon cause now that it`s over
I cant stop blabbing about how good it is :-)
